                                        Description
                                    In this session, we will discuss tips for identifying and supporting a mother with a history of sexual assault. The session will cover ways to help mothers reach breastfeeding goals in ways that feel safe to her and her baby. We will also discuss common breastfeeding problems that may be masked by an unknown assault history; how the body keeps score; how birthing with a history can impact breastfeeding and postpartum depression; along with steps you as the IBCLC can take to ensure a safe, confident, breastfeeding dyad.
